Our Projects

Established in 2007, Engage Planning works in local authorities throughout the country.

Our projects include:

large urban extensions

Often referred to as ‘Strategic Urban Extensions’ (SUEs) or ‘Strategic Development Areas’ (SDAs).

These sites are long-term projects that deliver new homes for an area, together with new community facilities, which can include schools, transport infrastructure, community centres, health centres, business/employment parks, retail facilities and public open spaces.

Recently, Engage has led consultation programmes for:

High Hayden Garden Community

(North Northamptonshire District Council)

We lead the community consultation for the development. High Hayden Garden Community forms part of the Rushden East Sustainable Urban Extention. It is a mixed-use development with over 2,500 new homes, schools, sports and play areas, open spaces, allotments, local centres and a business park.

The consultation programme has included, exhibitions, stakeholder engagement and a webiste. Engage Planning created the brand identity for the site.

The Langley Consortium

(within Birmingham City Council)

We are the community consultants for this important development in Sutton Coldfield. When completed it will provide up to 5,500 new homes, new schools, parks and play areas, healthcare and local amenities, including a district centre and sports hub.

Engage Planning has led several rounds of consultation including exhibitions, stakeholder contact and developed the project website.

Kingsbrook

(Buckinghamshire Council)

Kingsbrook is a flagship development for Barratt DAvid Wilson, providing new homes, schools, nurseries, play areas and sports pitches, nature-rich open spaces, new community centres and a neighbourhood centre.

At Kingsbrook, Barratt David Wilson has been working in close partnership with the RSPB and Buckinghamshire Council, to create a nature-friendly housing development.

Over the past twelve years, Engage Planning has created the branding for the site, organised a series of exhibitions and developed the project website. A stakeholder steering group has been established to ensure regular and effective communications.

RESIDENTIAL SCHEMES

To meet the housing needs of a local area.

These projects typically include a range of house types, including affordable homes, from bungalows to family-style homes and usually include a children’s play area and areas of landscaped open spaces.

bespoke redevelopment schemes

Our projects have also included the re-development of a former quarry for a residential housing scheme, the re-purposing of a Grade One Listed former woollen mill to apartments and community use and the redevelopment of a former brickworks for new housing.

house close

(West Northamptonshire Council)

This scheme involved the re-development of Overstone Farm to secure the long-term future of existing buildings and introduce new housing opportunities, with retirement living, a care home, high-quality apartments, single-storey cottages and bespoke new buildings.

We developed the brand for the site, undertook stakeholder engagement, created the website and consultation pack for the local community.

WHAT OUR CLIENTS SAY

“The standard of graphic presentation and slick organisation of our recent exhibition and Rushden East was first class and portrayed our business in the best light.”

Barratt Developments

“Thoroughly impressed with the professionalism and approach of Engage Planning to a recent two-day public consultation event. The materials prepared were of the highest standard and included a number of thoughtful and useful additions which I had not seen elsewhere.”

Taylor Wimpey Strategic Land

“We have found online consultation to be an excellent way to conduct community consultation. It has proved to be popular with local residents and stakeholders, reaching a wide demographic and generating a substantial amount of feedback, which stands up to scrutiny from local authorities.”
