Proposals for a mixed-use, residential-led scheme in Bolsover recently gained planning permission with the support of local councillors.
The development provides approximately 350 new homes, together with significant areas of public open space and equipped play areas. It also provides scope for employment generating opportunities, possibly in the form of a children's day nursery and a care home, light industrial and office units.
A series of meetings were held with local stakeholders including local councillors and the town council in order to discuss the proposals in greater detail and to promote a scheme that would be of long-term benefit to Bolsover, bringing economic benefits in addition to the provision of new housing. Following these meetings and a public exhibition, the layout of the development was amended to accommodate the requirements of those living closest to the site. This was the scheme that gained planning permission.
