Communities

Engage were very frank and honest and didn’t patronise us. In the end we feel we had a fair say on the plans and our village was  better for it. Carol & Will Harrison, East Sussex

Communities

We understand that some development proposals are not always greeted with open arms by the communities who may be affected by change. People worry about the impact of local population growth, house prices, the potential for traffic congestion and the impact on the physical landscape.

So we won't pretend these are not real concerns.

Similarly there can be benefits. We hope that by addressing the difficult issues honestly and frankly, that you will be open to discuss the potential benefits and some of the technical details of the development in your area.

At Engage Planning, Our job is not to make decisions about outcomes. Our job is to present the options and the opinions of all parties, working towards the best outcome for everybody.

For this reason a constructive community discussion is necessary. If you feel resistant to a development, it’s important to share your concerns, but it’s also important to contribute to the plans in case they do go ahead.

Even if you support a development, we can share some of the finer points of the plans which you may not be aware of, and which may benefit from your input.

We work with interested parties in a number of ways. They are designed to give you the maximum opportunity to understand, contribute and comment. Visit our methods page to see how we may be working in your area.
